EXPERIENCED ruckman David Hale celebrated his 100th game for Hawthorn in style on Friday night.

The 31-year-old collected 13 disposals and kicked a goal, as the Hawks ran out 138-point victors over Carlton at Etihad Stadium.

Hale, who had played 129 games with North Melbourne before joining the Hawks for the 2011 season, became the 37th player in AFL/VFL history to play 100 games at multiple clubs.

He said it was nice to bring up the milestone and believes the Hawks are travelling nicely at this stage of the season.

“It’s a great honour to play 100 games at two great clubs,” Hale said after Friday night’s game.

“With the team we’ve got at Hawthorn at the moment, it’s good to be a part of.

“The last three weeks have been pretty good – the way we’ve defended and also the way we’ve hit the scoreboard.”

The Hawks are pressing for a top-two berth, and have two big matches coming up against Richmond and West Coast Eagles.

Hale, who has played in 80 wins out of 100 games at Hawthorn, said the team was placed well to tackle the Tigers this week.

“We’re still building, but the boys have got their confidence up going into Friday night against Richmond,” he said.

After an injury-interrupted start to the season, Hale has now played 10 consecutive AFL matches, averaging 18 hit-outs, 9.8 disposals and a goal per game.
