IT’S been a big first two weeks for the English Premier League – and Hawthorn Football Club’s official EPL Fans’ Fantasy League.

The leader so far in the HFC league is Joshua Smeaton, who is on a total score of 131 after two games.

Having Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany as captain has paid dividends for Joshua – he had Kompany as captain in week one, and again in week two, where he had an 11-point haul.

Joshua has a one-point lead at the top of our league from Justin-Paul Sammons, who also has Kompany, but captained Romelu Lukaku from Everton in game week two.

Lukaku’s week two haul was 13 points – which was doubled with the captaincy to 26 – which has put Justin-Paul well and truly up the top.

As far as the current Hawks crop of players are going, Paul Puopolo is leading fairly comfortably and is the king of the change-rooms at the moment.

Paul Puopolo is sitting in 15th spot - he's the best of the Hawks after the first two weeks.

David Hale has been getting into me because my season has been going absolutely horrendously.

Out of a total of 3.2 million players worldwide, I’m sitting around the 2.8 million mark.

I’ve had to pull my wildcard – and for those who don't know what the wildcard is, it means you get unlimited transfers for the week.

You get one wildcard in the first 19 rounds, and one in the last 19 rounds – unfortunately my team has been so diabolical that I have had to pull my wildcard already.

Expect a very, very different line-up from me this week.

My team failed to fire in the first two weeks...

As far as the actual EPL table stands, there are four teams that are undefeated – Manchester City have been the most emphatic victors so far, with two 3-0 wins.

They’ve been outstanding. They really took it to Chelsea, and Sergio Aguero had five shots on target in the first 25 minutes of that game, so expect big things from him.

Leicester City finished last season really well and have got two wins under their belt this season, Liverpool have ground out a couple of wins – both 1-0 – without necessarily playing their very, very best.

Manchester United have won both of their games – but they’ve had a total of three shots on target in two games, so I wouldn’t be thinking they will keep their record up with their form at the moment.

Expect some changes around Manchester United, so watch this space.

We want you to get involved, so if you’re on Twitter, ask some questions and I’ll see if I can answer them in the next edition.

We’ll monitor how the season is going every couple of weeks – and I’ll let you know once I start pinning back David Hale and Paul Puopolo and getting back up to where I deserve to be, at the top of our league.
