HAWTHORN officially launched its partnership with Audi Australia at the Ricoh Centre today.
The three-year deal, which was announced in June this year, will unite one of the world’s most prestigious and rapidly growing car manufacturers with one of Australia’s most successful sporting organisations.
As part of the new sponsorship agreement, the Audi logo will be displayed on the players’ shorts and coaches’ property (apparel and coaches’ box) from 2016. The club will also refurbish and rename its Grande Suite at the MCG the ‘Audi Suite’.
Hawthorn CEO Stuart Fox, Audi Australia Managing Director Andrew Doyle and newly announced Audi Ambassador Jordan Lewis all spoke at the launch.
Lewis joins the likes of actors Chris Hemsworth and Hugh Jackman, champion surfer Mick Fanning, and fashion designer Collette Dinnigan, who are also Audi Ambassadors.
Six Audi vehicles were on display at the launch.
As part of his ambassadorship, Lewis drove away in a brand new Audi.
Senior Hawks Grant Birchall, Luke Breust and Jack Gunston - plus 3AW journalist Sam McClure - each received an Audi to test drive for two weeks.
Internationally, Audi sponsors a number of exceptional global sporting brands which include football clubs Real Madrid FC, FC Barcelona, AC Milan and Bayern Munich.
Throughout Australia, Audi has several partners in sport, contemporary art, theatre, film, lifestyle and motorsport through its significant sponsorship portfolio.
