A dominant display in Tassie. Gunners kicked four to celebrate his 100th game in style, as we notched a 72-point win against the Lions.
The Rundown
It was all Hawthorn last time they played the Lions, crushing them by 72 points in Launceston.
The Lions led at quarter time after kicking with a strong breeze in the first term, but it was all Hawthorn after that as they kicked 14 of the next 15 goals to blow their opposition away.
The Lions rallied late in the third term but wouldn’t be able to put a dent in the lead that the Hawks had built, suffering a heavy loss in the penultimate home and away round.
The Star
Jack Gunston was in great form for his 100th AFL game, kicking four goals and collecting 24 disposals in a clinical performance.
The Moment
Jarryd Roughead gathers the loose ball in the left forward pocket and despite being tackled by Daniel Merrett, dribbles through a remarkable goal.
The Coach
“The conditions were really tough and to kick 21 goals in those conditions was a good performance” – Alastair Clarkson
