Hawthorn Football Club would like to extend its congratulations to Chris Fagan on his appointment as senior coach at Brisbane Lions Football Club.
After spending six seasons as the club’s head of coaching and development, Fagan was appointed GM – football operations mid-way through the 2013 season.
Hawthorn CEO Stuart Fox said the club wished Chris all the very best in his next chapter at the Lions.
“Chris has been a fantastic contributor to our football club and we wish him well as he moves into a senior coaching position,” Fox said.
“He has been instrumental in our recent success and his work alongside the coaches, players and administration staff has been first-class.
“We would like to thank him for his contribution to Hawthorn Football Club and wish Chris and his wife Ursula, and their daughters Ellen and Jessica well.”
In farewelling Fagan, Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson thanked him for his contribution to the club.
“In his time at Hawthorn, Chris has displayed a fantastic ability to develop our coaches and players,” said Clarkson.
“Chris is well-placed for the transition into senior coaching, which is thoroughly deserved on the back of an impressive coaching and football resume.
“We thank him for the contribution he has made to our club and wish him luck in his role at the Lions,” he said.
Fagan will finish up at Hawthorn this week.
