Taking #4 in our countdown is 12th all-time leading goal kicker for Hawthorn, Ben Dixon.
Recruited from Yarrawonga, Dixon was drafted with pick 77 in round 5 of the 1997 National Draft.
Ben wasted no time proving himself as a dynamic forward, slotting 3 goals in his third ever AFL game then collecting 36 goals across his second season in 1998.
Dixon had Hawks fans up off their seats in Round 17 of 2001 against Carlton when he scored a match-winning goal after the siren to a crowd of over 50,000 at the MCG.
Dixon decided to hang up the footy boots at the end of 2007, finishing his 203-game AFL career with 282 goals and 22 Brownlow medal votes.
Continuing a profession within footy, Ben has gone on to work in various coaching roles across Hawthorn FC and Collingwood FC before co-founding the school holiday youth training camp DraftStars with fellow team mate Robert Campbell in 2010.
In addition, Dixon currently holds the role as Assistant Coach on Fox8’s reality television program The Recruit alongside former AFL senior coach Mick Malthouse.
