Before Peter Knights is elevated to Hawthorn 'Legend' status at next week's Mid Season Ball, we are reflecting on our seven current Hawthorn Legends to remind fans of how incredibly special and accomplished this group is.

Peter Hudson

An “average” day for Peter Hudson consisted of him kicking five or six goals from the Hawthorn full-forward line.

Understandably, Hudson is considered one of the greatest full-forwards of all time.

He kicked 100 goals in four consecutive seasons between 1968 and 1971, before injury cruelly cut him down for the next five years. Though, incredibly, he returned for one season in 1977 to kick yet another ton.

Hudson’s playing career is remembered by his innate abilities to read the game, use his body wisely and kick truly.

Such was his mastery, many Hawthorn fans used to follow him, switching ends each quarter to get a close look at a great at work.
