In his sixth year at the club, Will Langford put together a positive season throughout his 20 senior games.

The 25-year old recorded new career-highs in his kick (9.8) and mark (3.3) averages in 2017, which is made even more impressive when you consider the journey his year took.

Langford was one of the Hawks’ best players in the grim opening fortnight to the 2017 season.

Playing throughout the midfield, only Tom Mitchell and Jaeger O’Meara bettered Langford’s tallies of 55 disposals and 26 contested possessions over the first two weeks.

Then, towards the back half of the year, Langford began to spend the majority of his time in the forward line.

To record some of the best numbers in his career while playing as a permanent forward for a large part of the season is a credit to Langford.

The New South Welshman will likely look to continue to hone his craft as a medium-sized forward over the summer.

A word from: Brett Ratten

“Will played midfield for us at the start of the year and then played more forward for us in the back half of the year.

“His ability to explode out of stoppages is enormous for us, he has great strength and power. He can really challenge an opposition if he does get his hands on it and runs at the opposition.
