Changkuoth Jiath
“CJ played a half, before going off with some minor groin tightness. He showed a fair bit flying for his marks. He’s quite a dynamic runner, he worked really hard and his defensive pressure was very good. He also booted a goal, but it was unfortunate that we lost him at half time.” CN
Jackson Ross
“Ross played the first quarter and then had a stinger in his AC joint. It was nothing too serious, but it restricted his movement so we decided to take him off as we still had a lot of rotations on the bench.
But he had a good impact on the game early while playing up forward, he kicked a goal and set up another, and he was looking very lively.“ CN
Dylan Moore
“Moore played on the wing and worked his way into the game really well. He has a huge tank, so he was able to impact inside and outside the contest.” CN
Dallas Willsmore
“Willsmore played back for three quarters and then moved up to the wing. He was one of our highest possession getters on the day, finishing with around 20 disposals. He’s working on his defensive craft at the moment, which is a work in progress.” CN
Teia Miles
“Miles played forward and rotated inside the midfield. His pressure around the ball was outstanding. He can usually generate a lot of exciting offence but it was his defence that stood out. If he can get a good balance of that, he’ll have a good year.” CN
Conor Nash
“Nash played forward. He was probably stiff on a couple of occasions, he was presenting well but didn’t get used. He worked really hard, creating a really good contest and set up a couple of goals for us. That position is new for him so he’s still learning the caper of playing forward.” CN
Conor Glass
“Glass played back pretty much the whole game. He was defensively really solid. He’s a rebounding defender so we’d like to get more of the ball in his hands, but that’s what he is trying to work on.”
James Worpel
“Worpel played inside pretty much the whole game with little stints forward. He got his hands to a lot of the ball. He’s a bigger bodied inside mid who uses his size and strength well. He works really hard and he’s a really honest player so I think he’ll be pretty happy with his first hit out with us.”
James Cousins
“Cousins was arguably our stand out player on the day. He looked really strong while playing as an inside mid for nearly a full game. He looked really clean and sharp with his hands, and his kicking was quite impressive as well.” CN
