Hawthorn's VFLW side has completed its first ever intraclub match, as Patrick Hill’s squad finalises its preparations for the 2018 VFLW season.
The Hawks were split into a gold team and a white team, with the white joined by players from the Eastern Devils for a hit-out at Mulgrave Reserve.
Despite a slow start in the first quarter where neither team managed to find the goals, both looked controlled through the midfield and provided some strong defence.
Steph Carroll was dominant in the centre, providing some vital punches and tackles for the gold.

More composure was gained in the second half, with the gold acquiring more inside 50s and intercept marks. Midfield recruit Lou Wotton was sent to the forward line, where she claimed two goals in a standout performance.
A lack of interchange led to a slow final term from both sides, with the gold eventually running away 33-point victors.
According to Senior Coach Patrick Hill, the hit out was an opportunity for the Hawks to test their structures before the home and away season kicks off in less than a month's time.
"The great thing about today was that we got to play against someone else," Hill said.
"Even though it was an intraclub, we had one side that was all Hawthorn and one side that was a mix [with the Eastern Devils].
"It throws some curve balls at you structure-wise that you've got to overcome.
"The other thing that we were really keen to do today was work on some new structures around the new rules within the VFLW... and iron out some flaws in the coach's thinking.
"Now we get to go away, have a rethink and put it back into action and see if it's better next week."
The Hawks take on Carlton this weekend for another practice match at Chirnside Park.
They will then finalise their pre-season preparations against Richmond the following week, before kicking off their 2018 campaign at Windy Hill on May 6th.
