Hawthorn is set to face a travelling Eagles side hoping to break an almost 12-year drought against the Hawks outside of Perth.
Their last victory away from home over the Hawks came at the MCG in Round 14, 2006, as five goals to Quentin Lynch and 33 disposals to a man by the name of Chris Judd helped the side to a 10-point win.
Since then, the Hawks have won all ten encounters between the two sides either at the ‘G (five), Etihad Stadium (one) or University of Tasmania Stadium (four), with an average winning margin of almost 35 points.

But while the Eagles’ travelling record over recent years may not have been as good as they’d like it to have been, they boast a perfect travelling record in 2018.
Sitting atop the AFL ladder with just a single loss to its name, West Coast has overcome the Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium, the Giants in Sydney and Carlton at the ‘G so far.
Lining up for just their second-ever encounter at Etihad Stadium, Sunday’s clash is set to a mouth-watering one with West Coast positioned to have arguably their best shot at Hawthorn interstate since the Judd-led Eagles of ’06, but with the Hawks also desperate to get back on the winners list.
