While he may have kicked the goal that got the Hawks over the line against Port Adelaide on Saturday, Hawks skipper Jarryd Roughead also managed to bring up a milestone as he sent through the crucial major.
After putting the Hawks up by a point with only four minutes remaining, the four-time premiership veteran became the first-ever player to kick 100 goals at Launceston’s University of Tasmania Stadium as the Hawks held on for a four-point win.
Roughead has averaged almost two and a half goals over 41 games at the Hawks’ second home, with his best return at the venue coming in 2014 with a bag of eight majors in the Hawks’ 44-point win over West Coast.
The 264-gamer is also set to notch his 550th career goal in the coming weeks, currently sitting on 546, and is set to return to the venue in Round 14 as the Hawks take on the Gold Coast Suns.
