It’s a big weekend for Hawks’ full back James Frawley, with the premiership star set to notch up his 200th AFL game.

After more than a decade of service with lengthy tenures across two AFL clubs, Frawley will celebrate the special milestone this Saturday against the Lions.

Drafted in 2006 from the North Ballarat Rebels, the baby-faced nephew of former AFL star Danny Frawley was first selected by the Melbourne Demons with Pick 12.

He made his debut in Round 9 the following year, immediately showing his potential as a lock-down defender.

He would go in to play 139 games with the club, culminating in an impressive 2010 season that earned him All Australian honours.

At the end of the 2014 season, Frawley exercised his free agency to join the Hawks, with Melbourne receiving a first-round draft pick as compensation.

His impact was instantaneous; the defender kept Coleman Medallist Josh Kennedy goalless in the 2015 Grand Final to help Hawks to their third successive premiership, and Frawley’s first. His efforts were recognised on the day, with the defender finished third in the Norm Smith votes behind winner Cyril Rioli and runner-up Sam Mitchell.

The 29-year-old has since notched up 60 games in the brown and gold, and counting.
