Hawthorn's Round 23 fixture has been confirmed, with the Hawks set to face off against the Swans in a Saturday night blockbuster at the SCG.

As with all recent encounters between the two sides, the fixture looms as an absolute classic, with both teams currently fighting for a place in the final eight.

Following a win over Fremantle, Hawthorn has jumped up into seventh place on the AFL ladder with 11 wins and seven losses, while a loss to Essendon saw the Swans slide from fourth position all the way down to ninth.

With the top eight so tight and percentage so crucial late in the season, the Round 23 match up could decide both clubs' finals fate.
