The Box Hill Hawks delivered a strong 31-point win over Sandringham at Trevor Barker Oval on Saturday.

The victory sees the Hawks maintain a hold on a top-four position as they enter the final month of the home and away season.

Coach Chris Newman reviews the performances of each AFL-listed player below.

Kieran Lovell

21 disposals, 6 marks, 1 tackle, 1 goal

"He played on-ball for majority of the game, but also went forward in patches. He looked really dynamic around the contest. I was really pleased that he hit the scoreboard this week and play a full game. He has been a little bit hampered with injuries of late so it was great to see him run out a full game and have some real, quality impact. A pretty good effort from Lovey." CN

Conor Glass

20 disposals, 8 marks, 1 tackle

"Really happy with Glassy's game. He has been working on trying to get the ball in his hands a bit more. He has probably been a little bit stiff not to accumulate as much possession over the last couple of weeks because his workrate has been fantastic. So, it is great to see him get his 20 touches and he is always good with it when he gets the ball for us. I thought his defensive efforts were really good too, I think he had three marks from opposition boot which is a great effort for a hybrid-sized defender." CN

David Mirra

20 disposals, 8 marks, 3 tackles

"David Mirra used his body really well throughout the game. I thought he read the ball particularly well behind the footy and pressed up on occasions to either spoil or mark the ball. Dave had a really solid game, his defensive and offensive game is in a really good spot at the moment. He continues to put his hand up." CN

Dallas Willsmore

19 disposals, 7 marks, 1 tackle, 1 goal

"Dallas played on a wing this week predominantly. His workrate was pretty huge on the day. he ended up with a goal and could have quite possibly have kicked a few more. He had a pretty solid battle there on the wing and 19 disposals was a good result." CN

James Cousins

17 disposals, 3 marks, 4 tackles, 1 goal

"Relatively quiet in terms of his numbers after they put a little bit of attention into him. Every time he got the ball he would have one and two guys tackling him so it was a pretty combative sort of game from Cuz. He did a lot of the grunt work and did what we required of him. He was really diligent around stoppage. He feels like he can give a little bit more and hopefully he does next week." CN

Tim O'Brien

16 disposals, 9 marks, 1 tackle

"He played centre half-back. He took a few marks from opposition boot. He was really effective with his kicking and I thought he set us up quite well in that regard. His energy levels and his buy-in to what the back half needed to do was first class." CN

Dylan Moore

15 disposals, 4 marks, 1 tackle

"He was on the wing and I'm sure he would have learnt a few lessons playing on some of the guys that he did. He works really hard and he continues to improve." CN

Olly Hanrahan

14 disposals, 3 marks, 4 tackles, 1 goal

"I thought it was one of his better games although his disposals numbers wouldn't suggest it. Every thing he touched, he just looked quite dynamic and lively. His ability to create and draw opponents to him is elite. Again, a little bit like Lovell, he's been hampered by injuries a bit so it was great to see him get through a full game and hopefully he has pulled up well." CN

Kurt Heatherley

14 disposals, 8 marks, 4 tackles

"I thought he was back to his aggressive best on the weekend. When he scraps and fights, he has the most impact for us. There was no real dominant forward for the opposition throughout the day. They were quite small but every time Kurt had to compete he did." CN

Marc Pittonet

14 disposals, 1 mark, 4 tackles, 60 hit-outs, 1 goal

"Pitto had an opportunity to have a bit of dominance in the ruck and he took that with 60 hit-outs. I thought he was quite influential with that and gave our mids clean use. He kicked a goal as well. His follow-up work was particularly good and he got quite a few clearances as well." CN

Taylor Duryea

13 disposals, 2 marks

"Duryea played forward and he had impact. He was probably a beneficiary of Pitto's solid hit-outs as he was able to get through the stoppage well for us. He halved a lot of contests that came his way and, for a smaller forward to be able to compete with some of their taller defenders, he played a really important role for us." CN

Jackson Ross

12 disposals, 5 marks, 2 tackles, 1 goal

"Ross' defensive actions was quite good and he seems to hit the scoreboard each week at the moment, which is what you want from a forward. He uses his body really well in a marking contest and he is quite smart with anticipating when to go forward and when to hold. So, again, Rossy continues to improve his craft and he looks to show signs each week." CN

Changkuoth Jiath

10 disposals, 1 mark, 3 tackles, 1 goal

"I thought his defensive intent was a stand-out. He made quite a few forward 50 tackles and he was probably stiff not to get a few free kicks on the back of them. He looked quite dangerous with his leading around the ground. He finished with a goal though which was good." CN

Harry Jones

10 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles

"Jones would probably be a bit disappointed with his game because he likes to generate a bit of the football off half-back. He probably had more influence early on but, as a defender, it is not always about disposals. He's just got to learn that sometimes he just has to play his role for the team and that's a big tick for us. I thought he did that quite well and he was never really beaten in any contest. He is a natural competitor." CN

Will Langford

8 disposals

"We know that he can have more impact than he did. We just didn't get it to him as well as we could have. One thing that did stand out was his care for his teammates. He obviously thought that if it wasn't his day that he would at least try to create for his teammates, which he did quite often throughout the day." CN

Mitchell Lewis

8 disposals, 3 marks, 3 tackles, 2 goals

"Lewis was quite lively. Again hitting the scoreboard which is exactly what we want from him. He competed quite well in the ruck and he continues to learn and improve." CN
