While it was a sensation night for star Hawks midfielder Tom Mitchell as he became the first Hawk since Sam Mitchell in 2012 to take home the Brownlow Medal, nine of his teammates also polled at Monday night's count.

Tom Mitchell - 28 votes
Capped a stellar year by claiming the AFL’s highest individual accolade. Broke the record for most disposals in both a single game (54 against Collingwood in Round 1) and an overall season (848 in 2018) and polled a career-high 28 votes to take out the award. Was named best-on-ground by the umpires on a massive six occasions.
Jaeger O’Meara – 13 votes
Had what was his best and most consistent season in 2018 and was rewarded with a career-high 13 Brownlow votes on Monday night. O’Meara averaged 24 disposals across 21 appearances for the season and finished up polling in eight matches for the Hawks.
Jack Gunston – 10 votes
Named All Australian this season, Gunston’s efforts were recognized on Brownlow night as he finished the third-highest Hawk. Gunston received the full three votes in the Hawks’ Round 20 and 22 wins over Essendon (five goals, 20 disposals) and St Kilda (four goals, 24 disposals) respectively and 23 wins.
Ben McEvoy – 8 votes
The Hawks ruckman had his best outing at the Brownlow on Monday night, picking up eight votes. Scored the full three votes for the second time in his career, rewarded for a season-high 52 hitouts in the Hawks’ Round 23 win over the Swans and finished the third-highest-polling ruckman behind All-Australian pair Max Gawn and Brodie Grundy.
Liam Shiels – 8 votes
Capped an impressive season as he was awarded best-on-ground honours in both the Hawks’ Round 4 triumph over Melbourne and Round 14 win over Gold Coast. The hard-at-it midfielder surpassed 30 disposals in both those games, picking up 31 and 33, respectively.
James Sicily – 8 votes
Named the Hawks’ best on two occasions as the defender had what was arguably a career-best year. 29 disposals, 14 marks and a goal earnt him the three votes against the Bombers in Round seven as he blanketed Essendon forward Joe Daniher while three goals from 24 disposals saw him also earn the full votes in the Hawks’ Round 13 win over Adelaide.
Luke Breust – seven votes
Also an All Australian this year, Breust picked up just the second lot of three votes in his career with an incredible six-goal, 24-disposal performance against the Bulldogs in Round 16.
Isaac Smith – six votes
Was given full votes by the umpires for his blistering performance against the Saints in Round 6 in which he kicked four goals from 24 disposals. Rewarded for his excellent first half of the season with all six votes coming prior to Round 11.
Paul Puopolo – one vote
Poppy polled in the Brownlow for just the second time in his 168-game career, picking up a single vote from the umpires in the Hawks’ Round 18 win over Carlton. The livewire forward caught the attention of the umpires with four goals from 22 disposals.
Jarryd Roughead – one vote
The skipper picked up just the single vote for the season after a three-goal performance against the Bombers in round seven, taking his career tally to 57.
