Review
Handed the No. 15 guernsey at the start of the season, perhaps we should have anticipated the incredible rise of Blake Hardwick this year.
In just his third season at the club, Hardwick has consolidated an outstanding reputation for himself as a courageous and dependable defender.
The 21-year-old was one of just five Hawks to play all 24 games this season as his durability was also to be applauded.
He averaged 16.4 disposals, 4.5 marks and 4.8 one-percenters per game throughout his breakout campaign this year.
Hardwick was awarded second place in the Peter Crimmins Medal count this year, highlighting his standing within the four walls of the football club.
He was also recognised as the Hawks’ ‘Most Promising Player’.
