At his first day of training as a Hawk, Tom Scully is confident he will be back out on the park for his new club in 2019.
Scully’s move to Hawthorn over the off-season was seen as a coup for the brown and gold despite the significant ankle injury he suffered last season.
“It’s feeling OK at the moment. I’m going to start some light loading this week,” Scully said.
“Everything’s on track. It’s going to be a long process, but one I’m confident that I can get right and the Hawks are really confident that if it’s managed well, I can be back playing footy next year which is my ultimate aim.”
The 27-year-old said his training load would progress over coming weeks as he aims to join the main group in the new year.
