Following an incredible break out season in the brown and gold, exciting youngster James Worpel has been crowned the 2019 Peter Crimmins Medallist.
In just his second year at the club, Worpel took out the award ahead of Ricky Henderson in second place and Jaeger O’Meara in third.
He is one of just four players in club history to win the award at 20 years of age.
Playing in all 22 games for the year, Worpel polled in all but one of his appearances.

In the four games between Rounds 19 and 22, Worpel earned a massive 35 votes in a purple patch that ultimately drove him to victory.
The courageous midfielder averaged 26.6 disposals this year, registering more possessions than any other Hawk.
Henderson’s runner-up placing is his best finish in a best and fairest count of his 10 seasons at AFL level.
In his third campaign in the brown and gold, the former Crow enjoyed a career-best year in which he averaged 24.6 touches through his 22 outings.
The 31-year-old ranked fourth league-wide for totals marks taken in the home and away season, recording 7.2 per game.
It is also the first time O’Meara has finished on the podium of the Hawks’ best and fairest count.
Like the top-two placegetters, the strongly-built on-baller delivered a career-best year in 2019, standing up in the absence of Tom Mitchell.
Averaging 25.8 disposals from his 21 matches, O’Meara earned more Brownlow votes than any other Hawk in an impressive campaign for the 25-year-old.
Small forward Ollie Hanrahan took out the Best First Year Player award after playing nine senior games.
Though technically into his third season with the brown and gold, 2019 was the year that saw Hanrahan officially break into the AFL team.
He got his first taste of AFL action in the Round 15 loss to West Coast and never looked back, holding his spot for the remainder of the season and booting seven goals from his nine games.
Fellow forward Mitch Lewis fittingly won Most Promising Player after a season in which he announced himself as a key piece of the club’s future.
After making intermittent senior appearances in the opening three months of the season, Lewis finished the season as one of the side’s most in-form players, booting 13 goals from his last six games.
With his contested marking a true feature of his play, Lewis grew in confidence this year, playing with a presence befitting of a player well beyond his 14 career games.
Another man to have a break-out season in 2019, Jarman Impey was deservedly name the club’s Most Consistent Player.
With career-high numbers in disposals, marks and rebound 50s, Impey became one of the Hawks' most valuable players, before an ACL rupture in Round 18 brought a cruel end to his 2019 campaign.
Finally, Jonathon Ceglar was honoured with the Best Clubman award.
In his seventh year on Hawthorn’s list, Ceglar played 15 games, regularly riding shotgun to fellow ruckman Ben McEvoy.
A popular member of the playing group, Ceglar excitingly signed on with the club for another three years last month.
