Despite missing the first six games of the season with a foot injury, Will Day continued to prove his powerful presence in the midfield. Upon his AFL return, the 23-year-old averaged 19.3 disposals, 4.6 tackles and 3.6 clearances for the year. With full fitness, Day is one of the most consistent and damaging midfielders across the competition, demonstrated by his 2023 Peter Crimmins Medal win. The young star has also taken home the peer-voted Lethal Award, made the AFLPA’s 22under22 team, earned a Rising Star nominee and taken out Hawthorn’s Best First Year Player Award, all before turning 25.
