Following his selection with Pick 5 in the 2023 national draft, Nick Watson went on to kick 25 goals from his first 18 games in the brown and gold. The 19-year-old earned a Rising Star nomination for his three goals in Hawthorn’s 66-point win in Collingwood in Round 19. He continued his solid form into the finals, booting seven majors across the two weeks. Watson’s maiden season culminated in winning the club’s Most Promising Player Award at the Peter Crimmins Medal.
