Wales was drafted by Hawthorn with Pick 25 in the 2022 national draft. She made her debut in Round 1 later that year against her twin sister, Stephanie, who plays for Essendon. Since then, the 21-year-old has gone on to play a further 18 games as the team’s number one ruck for the majority of the time. She has also been nominated twice for the AFLW’s Rising Star award. Prior to joining the Hawks, Wales worked her way up to play with the Casey Demons despite only playing a handful of local games as a junior before crossing over to basketball.
