Hawthorn's recent red hot form has positioned them as one of the AFL's best-performed teams during the latter end of the season.

The Hawks would currently be pressing for a top-four spot based on performances of the league's 18 teams during the last five rounds.

With three wins and a draw from the last five games, Hawthorn is the fifth-best performed across the competition since Round 18.

AIA Vitality Update: Two stars push for return

The brown and gold fall behind Port Adelaide (five wins), Geelong (four), Sydney (four) and Melbourne (three).

The Demons are also currently on three wins, a draw and a loss, but at a higher percentage than the Hawks (140 per cent compared to 110 per cent).

Hawthorn is heading into the final round of the season on the back of a three-game winning streak having defeated Brisbane, Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs.

The Hawks haven't had such a strong finish to the season between Round's 18 to 22 since the 2018 season where they nailed five wins in a row (and also adding another victory in Round 23).

As the club looks to face Richmond at the MCG on Saturday, Hawthorn will be hoping to replicate a similar impressive finish in 2021 as they did in 2018.
