Hawthorn forward Luke Breust has sadly run out of time in his quest to make a return from injury against Richmond on Saturday.
The Hawks gave Breust until the 11th hour to prove his fitness ahead of the Round 23 match-up, but the three-time premiership Hawk unfortunately fell short of being 'match-fit'.
Breust injured his knee against Brisbane in Round 20.
He will be replaced in the selected side by young small forward Tyler Brockman.
Head of Football Rob McCartney said he was disappointed for Breust that he wasn't able to recover in time.
"We were hopeful he'd get up for today's game and we gave hjim every chance but sadly it was not to be," McCartney said.
"We're excited that Brocky can come in and get another chance on the senior stage."
