Season summary:
Mitch Lewis continued to grow into his role as one of the Hawks’ key spearheads in 2021.
With a total of 22 goals for the year, Lewis kicked the most majors during a season in his career to date, slotting two more in comparison to his break-out year in 2019.
Averaging 1.6 goals a game, with an accuracy of 61.1 per cent – up from his career-average of 53.4 per cent - the 22-year-old continued to hone his craft as a key forward in 2021, finishing fourth in the Hawks goal kicking tally.
After missing several games due to concussion, Lewis was able to slot his way back into the team for the last six rounds of the season.
The youngster, who is still early on in his football journey, was ranked first in his team for contested marks and marks on lead, averaging 1.8 and 1.5 per game respectively.
Best AFL game:
With 13 disposals, four marks and a team-high three goals, Lewis’ best game for the season came in Round 19 against the Adelaide Crows.
