Season summary:
After seven seasons in the brown and gold, Ben McEvoy took over as captain of the club ahead of the 2021 season.
An outstanding player and clubman, the 32-year-old slotted relatively seamlessly into the captaincy role.
A team-first player, McEvoy continued to provide a pivotal presence for the club both on and off the field and played every game in 2021.
The veteran kicked 12 goals across the season and played in a multitude of positions, mostly in the forwardline with a fair bit of ruckwork particularly in the early part of the season.
Best AFL game:
A stand-out game for Big Boy came in Round 14 against the Bombers were he finished with 26 hit-outs - more than anyone else on the ground.
How the fans saw him:
Oh this fills my heart with so much joy. ??He will lead our club with strength, passion and dignity. #always ??????
