Season summary:

Following an impressive 2020 campaign where he placed third in the Peter Crimmins Medal count, Chad Wingard continued his form as one of the club’s top performers this season.

In his best season in the brown and gold, Wingard scored ‘above average’ across all domains for disposals, kicks, handballs, marks, tackles and total clearances.

He also led the club for inside 50s, goal assists, score involvements – with his average of 7.1 the 10th best league-wide – while also finishing third best among his teammates for disposals.

The 28-year-old’s end to the season was especially prolific, winning 30 or more disposals in three of the last four rounds after returning from a hamstring injury.

One of the Hawks’ premier talents, Wingard will continue to play a key role in the club’s pursuit for success in 2022.

Best AFL game:

His season-best performance came in Round 20 against the Brisbane Lions as he finished with 32 disposals, including 20 kicks, along with seven marks, six tackles and two goals.
