Hawthorn has locked in another exciting young defender to the club, with Jack Scrimshaw signing a two-year extension which will see him remain a Hawk until at least the end of 2024.
Scrimshaw enjoyed a career-best campaign in 2021, averaging 20.6 disposals and 6.4 marks per game across his 20 appearances.
On 12 occasions the 23-year-old collected 20 or more touches, and was ranked the fifth-best Hawk in 2021 for his disposal efficiency.
National Recruiting & List Manager Mark McKenzie said Scrimshaw has gone from strength to strength since arriving at the club in 2018 from the Gold Coast Suns.
“He earned our Most Improved Player award in 2020, before taking his progression to the next level in 2021," McKenzie said.
“Last year we saw Scrim take on greater responsibility, elevating himself as a key utility who is capable of being a damaging defender yet also having the ability to move up the ground and impact.
“He played every game except two, and not only did his performance improve throughout his 2021 campaign, but so did his leadership too."
