Hawthorn Captain Ben McEvoy says he is raring to go after having to sit out his side's season opening win over North Melbourne.

Having had to enter the AFL's health and safety protocols throughout last week, McEvoy conceded he was left slightly "frustrated" having to watch his teammates go on without him.

"Look, frustration levels were high initially, I'll admit, but that's the world we live in," McEvoy said.

"So, yep it was frustrating, but I couldn't do anything about it and, at the end of the day, me and the family are happy and healthy so I can't complain too much."
