Coach Sam Mitchell says his side’s fight was on full display in its narrow loss to Fremantle on Saturday.
Fremantle held off a determined Hawthorn outfit to prevail by 13 points in the Optus Stadium thriller.
In what was a close tussle across all four quarters, the Dockers used a six goal third-term haul to surge ahead in the game.
Mitchell said he was proud of his side’s ability to continuously challenge the top-four Fremantle throughout the afternoon.
“They had a little bit more polish, a little bit more game sense and a little bit more nouse in the key moments of the game,” Mitchell said.
“But I couldn’t question our players, I thought they genuinely to a man left it all out there today.
“We did a lot right, just not enough.”
