Hawthorn has selected Bendigo Pioneers defender Emily Everist with Pick 25 in the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft.
Everist had a solid 2022 NAB League Girls campaign, averaging 8.5 disposals, 1.6 marks and 1.6 rebound 50s from eight appearances.
She then earned a spot in Vic Country’s NAB AFLW National Championships side, taking her game to the next level with 10.3 disposals, three tackles and two marks.
Hailing from a soccer background, Everist saw her game continue to evolve when she got the opportunity to suit up with Essendon.
The athletic defender boasts impressive endurance, having ranked fourth nationally in the AFLW combine 2km time trial.
