Hawthorn trio Jai Newcombe, Dylan Moore and James Sicily have all been nominated for this year's AFLPA's MVP, which is set to be announced at the AFL Awards on Wednesday.
Newcombe has produced a break-out season, becoming a powerful force within a young Hawks midfield during 2022.
The 22-year-old has averaged the third most disposals (22.5 per game) and tackles (4.6) of any of his teammates this year.
He is also ranked second within his side for average inside 50s (4.1) and first for clangers (4.9).
After an impressive 2021, Moore has once again produced another strong and consistent season this year.
The 23-year-old has averaged an 'elite' 20.2 disposals, 5.6 marks and 4.2 tackles per game according to Champion Data, while also providing further depth up forward, kicking 26 goals and averaging 5.9 score involvements.
In his return campaign following his knee injury last year, Sicily has also reaffirmed himself as a clear stand-out within the Hawks defence.
His impeccable marking ability has been on full display throughout the season, averaging a league-high of 8.6 per game, while also finishing 12th in the league for spoils with 6.6 per game.
The MVP award recognises the best player of the league as voted by their peers, with the shortlist created through votes within each club.
Players subsequently submit their votes for the whole competition, and are not allowed to vote for their teammates in the second stage.
The awards night also features Captain of the Year, Most Courageous Player and Best First Year Player.
The recipients of the awards are set to be announced at the 2022 AFLPA Awards which will take place this Wednesday 24 August and broadcast live on Fox Footy.
