Box Hill finished the home-and-away season with an eleven-and-seven record on the weekend, a return good enough to qualify for the finals.

The Hawks’ 18th and final fixture of the season did not go their way however after a strong Sydney Swans outfit defeated them by 57-points.

Hawthorn Development Coach Andy Otten has given his review of each AFL-listed Hawk that participated in the clash.

Liam Shiels (32 disposals, 5 marks, 6 tackles, 8 clearances)

"Liam came back in after his AFL game last week. We love Pup's leadership and the way he goes about it, he really binds this team together. He played midfield on the day and was really solid with 32 touches and eight clearances, six inside 50s and five rebound 50s - so he was everywhere statistically and a real leader for us on the day."

Emerson Jeka (24 disposals, 5 marks)

"Jeka came back in after three really good AFL games, and he continued his really great form and was a key back for us. He had 24 touches, five marks and was able to use his skill in the back half and defended pretty well on some tall opponents."

Kyle Hartigan (19 disposals, 8 marks)

"It was probably Moose's best game of the year, he had 19 touches and 8 marks, but more importantly he was really strong in the contest for us. He had a job after half time on Hayden McLean and did a really great job."

Jackson Callow (1 goal, 16 disposals, 7 marks)

"Callow had a good little bounce back game, he'd been quiet the last couple weeks, so it was good to see Callow get amongst it. 16 touches and seven marks, including some really strong contested marks. We know Callow's on when he takes a few of those contested marks early on in the game and imposes himself physically."

Jacob Koschitzke (12 disposals, 5 marks)

"Kosi came back in for his first game for quite some time and I think he's just a bit down on form at the moment. He was trying to get himself in the game, but just couldn't quite impact the way he would've liked. We even threw him down back in the last quarter, and he did pretty well back there."

Max Ramsden (9 disposals, 2 marks)

"Rama was against some quality AFL experienced ruckman in Peter Ladhams and Joel Amartey and he'll take some great learnings out of this game for a young first-year ruckman. I thought his ruck work against two really strong opponents was a highlight for Rama."

Sam Butler (3 disposals)

"Unfortunately Butsy got injured during the game in at the end of the first, so he was out of the game from then."

Cal Porter (35 disposals, 6 tackles, 6 marks)

"Cal is the heart and soul of this team, he was everywhere. 35 touches, 11 clearances and was once again an absolute warrior for us. He played on ball all game, he is just so strong in that area."

Ed Phillips (26 disposals, 7 marks)

"Ed also played a really good game for us, we had to play him in multiple positions due to how the game played out. He played on ball, wing, down back and might have even gone up forward as well. Ed was a really strong contributor with seven marks and 26 touches. He was everywhere for us too."
