Hawthorn has achieved another historic milestone in its AFLW journey with 5,000 members already signing up to be a part of the club’s inaugural season.
This is a significant moment for the club and the Hawthorn community, having only played one game of AFLW so far in what’s set to be a storied brown and gold journey in the competition.
Hawthorn CEO Justin Reeves thanked the brown and gold faithful for their emphatic show of support for the club’s AFLW team.
“To have 5,000 members already on board for our AFLW journey is an incredible achievement which the Hawthorn community should be extremely proud of,” Reeves said.
“I was delighted to be sitting in the stands for our inaugural AFLW game at Marvel Stadium on the weekend and I am so excited to see our fans turn up in their droves at Box Hill City Oval for our first AFLW home game on Sunday.
“We now set our sights on signing up 7,000 AFLW members, which would be a tremendous outcome for our inaugural season.”
