With the 2023 season officially less than 100 days away, there’s plenty of thrilling action for Hawthorn members and fans to look forward to next year.

Hawthorn welcomed a bumper 2023 fixture earlier this month which will see the club host several blockbuster home games at the MCG as well as four great games in Tasmania.

The fixture will see Hawthorn play 13 games in Melbourne.

The MCG home games include four match-ups against some of Hawthorn’s oldest rivals.

Here are some of the key games that brown and gold supporters can look forward to in 2023.

BLOCKBUSTER MCG GAMES

Since the release of the fixture, the club has seen a spike in Hawthorn reserved seat membership sales off the back of some significant blockbuster matches being announced.

R1 v Essendon

Kicking off the year with a home game at the MCG, the Hawks will open their season with a traditional-rivalry match against Essendon.

It will mark just the second time the Hawks have secured a home match against the Bombers at the ‘G in seven years.

These two sides have always had a fierce rivalry, resulting in entertaining and thrilling football, with this year shaping up to be just as exciting.

The last time Hawthorn met Essendon in an opening round clash was in 2021 where the Hawks took home a one-point victory after pulling off a thrilling comeback.

R9 v Melbourne

The Hawks are up for the challenge that awaits coming up against the 2021 premiers, and it’s sure to be one the young Hawks will thrive upon.

The most recent times these two sides have met has resulted in some exciting outings, and next year’s Saturday evening time slot at the ‘G is looking to be another anticipated game.

Hawthorn has come close to snatching a victory in the last two seasons against Melbourne, having just lost their most recent game by under two goals (Round 7, 2022), and recording a draw previously before that (Round 18, 2021).

R16 v Carlton

In a significant coup for the brown and gold faithful, this game marks the first time that the Hawks will host the Blues at the 'G since 2015.

The last time these two sides met in 2022 was decided by just a point – with the Blues just holding off a late comeback from Hawthorn in front of almost 70,000 fans.

We have no doubt that the boys will be hungry for redemption when they meet in 2023.

R21 v Collingwood

Hawthorn’s second final home game at the MCG for 2023 will see it battle Collingwood.

After a narrow four-point loss to the Pies in Round 12 of last year, Hawthorn will be looking to make a statement and take down the Magpie Army.

For those yet to join, a reserved seat membership is the best way to guarantee your seat for these blockbuster games.

R4 v Geelong, MCG

Easter Monday against Geelong. Bang! It's a staple in the football calendar, with the game arguably the most exciting match on the AFL calendar.

The rivals' traditional clash has been nothing short of thrilling in recent years.

In what was a highlight of the 2022 season, Hawthorn walked away with an exciting 12-point win over the Cats.

While the Hawks won't be hosting next year's clash, the game will act as a Member Access Game, allowing Hawthorn members access to use their membership to attend the match.

R7 v Western Bulldogs

To ensure plenty of footy content early in the season, Hawks’ fans will again be able to use their membership to enjoy a Saturday afternoon out at Marvel Stadium when the Hawks take on the Bulldogs.

R19 v Richmond, MCG

While Richmond claim hosting rights for this match up, Hawks fans will be able to attend the MCG clash using their membership against the yellow and black.

R23 v Melbourne, MCG

Brown and gold members will be able to come along and watch their side’s second match-up against Melbourne for the year, also declared as a Member Access Game.

Our General Admission membership is an ideal package that allows you to attend Hawks games and sit next to your friends and family in general admission bays.

With this membership you are also able to access the four Member Access Games allocated to Hawthorn fans.

TASSIE GAMES

Hawthorn will continue to call Launceston its home away from home, after the club agreed to a contract extension with the Tasmanian Government.

The partnership will see the Hawks play four home matches at UTAS Stadium across the 2023 home and away season, building upon 22 years with our loyal Tasmanian members.

R3 v North Melbourne

Hawthorn will kick off its first game at UTAS Stadium against North Melbourne.

The Hawks have produced some recent dominate performances against the Kangaroos, including two wins in 2022.

Next year’s match up will mark the third time these two teams have met at UTAS Stadium, with both sides having strong ties to Tasmania.

R6 v Adelaide (ANZAC clash)

Hawthorn will head back to Launceston for four games at UTAS Stadium next year, which is headlined by its ANZAC Round game against the Crows.

It marks the third consecutive year that Hawthorn will host an ANZAC Round game at its Tasmanian home.

Hawthorn has recorded a win over Adelaide in three of its last five encounters.

R10 v West Coast (Sir Doug Nicholls Round)

The Hawks will head back to Launceston for its Sir Doug Nicholls Round, taking on West Coast at UTAS Stadium.

In an exciting first, these two sides have never faced off against each other in Tasmania.

R22 v Western Bulldogs

Hawthorn will close off its Tassie travels for 2023, much like it did in 2022 – with another match-up against the Bulldogs.

The game will mark the final chance for Tasmanian fans to head down to UTAS Stadium and cheer on the boys for the 2023 home and away season.

Hawthorn’s Pritchard Pocket membership provides a great offer for our Tassie fans to enjoy access to all four home games at UTAS Stadium with a great view from the Southern Stand.
