Hawthorn Football Club has strengthened its ties to Tasmania through a new partnership with Hellyer Metals.

The Tasmanian-based business, which is dedicated to responsible and innovative green mining solutions, joins the brown and gold family as an Official AFL Partner.

Hellyer Metals prides itself on mining for a sustainable future, by extracting resources whilst rehabilitating and preserving the earth for generations to come.

Hellyer is also proud to provide growth and employment opportunities across the mining sector and in Tasmania, particularly in the state’s north-west.

Through the Tasmanian-focused partnership, more than 100 Hellyer Metal employees will each receive a Hawthorn membership to attend home matches in Launceston, while Hellyer will also serve as a Presenting Partner at UTAS Stadium President’s Functions.

Hawthorn CEO Justin Reeves was delighted to share the deal, which directly benefits Tasmania.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hellyer Metals into the Hawthorn fold,” Reeves said.

“Hellyer Metals is the forefront of sustainability and innovation, and as a club, we are delighted to be joining forces with a business that is doing so much good for the state of Tasmania.

“We look forward to seeing the hard-working Hellyer employees wearing the brown and gold at our home games in Tasmania in the many years to come.”

Hellyer Metals CEO Brad Monks said the partnership was particularly pleasing from a Tasmanian perspective.

“The management team at Hellyer are excited to partner with Hawthorn for the 2023 season – it’s a great initiative to bring AFL back to Tasmania and we are proud to be able to support it,” Monks said.

“We love to be a part of the community and support the Tasmanian economy, and this is a great opportunity to do so.

“We look forward to being a part of the team for the season ahead."
