Nissan Injury Update: List dwindles to four

Just four names make up Hawthorn's injury list ahead of Round 8, with Josh Morris the only addition since last week following a minor calf complaint.

Just four names make up Hawthorn's injury list ahead of Round 8, with Josh Morris the only addition since last week following a minor calf complaint.

Morris played in Box Hill's loss to Casey on Sunday, but experienced some calf soreness towards the end of the game.

Hawthorn High Performance Manager Peter Burge said the young defender would be a test to play ahead of this weekend. "Josh had a little calf issue late in the game, but he's pulled up really well. Medically, he looks really good," Burge said.

"He did a bit of running today, he's a good chance to play this weekend, but we've got a final session on Thursday before we make that final decision."

Meanwhile, Burge said key forward Mitch Lewis handled his return to AFL well on the weekend, getting through his first game back unscathed following a knee injury he sustained in the pre-season.

"Mitch pulled up relatively well, he's got some sore spots, after all it was his first game after a lengthy three-month long rehab stint preparing him to get back to football," Burge said.

"We brought him straight back into the AFL side - he was possibly ready a week earlier - but to play the full game and full minutes we took another week."He handled it really well and he'll be back on the track this week and preparing for the next game."
