Young gun Seamus Mitchell secured the fan-voted MVP for Round 9 following his breakout performance against Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday.

In just his fifth game at AFL level, the 20-year-old was a shining light for the Hawks on a tough afternoon, gathering 27 disposals and taking eight marks.

Showcasing his elite speed and line-breaking ability from half-back, Mitchell's stat sheet also included seven intercept possessions, nine rebound 50s and two score involvements.
