A very popular display that creates great visitor interest and conversation is the exhibit ‘100 games or more, 1925-2022’ at the double-door entrance to the museum, recording the list of players who have played 100 games or more for Hawthorn.

Former players, their families, and supporters when visiting can often be seen reminiscing in front of this grand parade of our former and current stars.

Members of Hawthorn's current team are curious to find out where they may be placed in this time-honoured display.

Of the 965 players who have made their debut with the Mayblooms / Hawks, 145 players have registered 100 games or more.

The ageless Michael Tuck leads the way with 426 games.

Seven players have achieved 300 games or more: Leigh Matthews (332), Sam Mitchell (307 - current coach), Shane Crawford (305), Luke Hodge (305), Chris Langford (303), Don Scott (303) and Kelvin Moore (300), with 37 other players having reached the 200-game mark.

From the 2023 playing list, Luke Breust leads with 260 games and is now in 14th position in the number of games played, followed by Blake Hardwick's 124 games in 118th position and the newly installed captain James Sicily in 140th position, with 115 games.

Since the start of the 2023 season, Luke Breust, having played 10 more games, has moved to equal 10th position on 270 games behind his former teammate Jarryd Roughead on 283 games.

Bruest’s former teammate Liam Shiels, now at North Melbourne, finished in 16th position on 255 games with the Hawks.

From the current list of 43 players, only three players have passed 100 games playing with the brown and gold - Luke Breust, Blake Hardwick, and James Sicily - which emphasizes how young the list is.

Several players recruited from opposition AFL teams - Karl Amon, Sam Frost, Jarman Impey and Chad Wingard - have achieved 100-plus combined AFL games.

It could be a season or two before another player achieves 100 games.

Presently, Impey sits on 75 games followed by Jack Scrimshaw (63), Dylan Moore (52), Sam Frost (50) and Conor Nash (50).
