Changkuoth Jiath is trending towards a return from a calf injury, but will face a test to prove his fitness this Thursday.
Jiath has missed the last four matches after being struck down with the complaint, but has made strong progression in the past week.
High Performance Manager Peter Burge said after a robust session over the past weekend, Jiath made a successful return to full training on Tuesday.
"The plan was to fully train this week, then assess. I still think this weekend has a question mark on it, in terms of playing," Burge said.
"He still has some slight awareness in the area, in his calf, it does involve a little bit of his Achilles attachment, and that's what slowed us up, so there's a little bit of tendon involvement."
While Sam Frost and Luke Breust have been cleared to return, first-year Hawk Jack O'Sullivan has joined the injury list after a nagging groin injury.
"He's had some groin pain on and off during the year that we've been able to keep on top of, but after the last game it just became evident that he wasn't feeling comfortable, so we pulled him right back and did some straight-line running," Burge said.
"It's quite common with first-year players - the jump in intensity from under 18s into an AFL system, full time, training five to six times a week, from training two times a week.
"This is a short-term management issue, it's fairly common with young players."
