Hawthorn will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak when it faces GWS in Sydney on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Giants will be looking to keep their momentum on a roll after snatching a two-point win over Melbourne last weekend to make it three in a row.

The last time these two sides met was earlier this year in Round 5 - the inaugural Gather Round - when the Hawks fell heartbreakingly short to the Giants by two points.

Jarman Impey, Tyler Brockman and Denver Grainger-Barras have been included into the side, while Luke Breust will miss the game due to a larynx (voice box) injury.

Last time we met

GWS (77) defeated Hawthorn  (77) - Round 5, 2023

It was heartbreak for the Hawks last week after falling short to GWS in a narrow two-point loss on Sunday in Adelaide.

After Hawthorn overcame their third quarter woes to open up an eight-point lead heading into the final term, it was GWS who snuck home at Norwood Oval in a remarkable finish.

Harry Himmelberg was the hero for the Giants after a match-winning goal and game-saving touch on the Hawks' goal line within a matter of seconds.

Jarman Impey looked to have pinched back the game with a late bomb from 50, but Himmelberg saved the day with a touch on the goal line to secure a win for the Giants.

Fergus Greene was huge for the Hawks on the day, kicking a game-high three goals and recording seven marks, while Conor Nash showed his dominance in the midfield, finishing with career-best 31 disposals and nine tackles.

Jai Newcombe was also instrumental finishing with 31 touches, six tackles and 10 clearances.

Our last game

Carlton (112) defeated Hawthorn (52)

The writing was on the wall for the Hawks early last Sunday after the Blues kicked eight goals in the first half, while keeping the brown and gold goalless until the third term.

Hawthorn went on to win the third quarter, and was much better after half-time, kicking five goals in the third term alone, but the effort came too late.

One of the few positives to come out of the day for the Hawks was youngster Josh Ward's impact who made his AFL return.

Ward returned from a stint at Box Hill and made an impact in his first senior appearance since hurting his foot after Round 8 finishing with 28 touches – the second most of his career.
