Hawthorn will head to Launceston for the final time this year when they host the Western Bulldogs at UTAS Stadium on Sunday.

The match will see the Hawks honour Tasmania's first responders, with the club hosting its second annual Tasmania Emergency Services Match.

Following the successful inaugural event in 2022, Hawthorn will once again provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the state’s emergency services workers and volunteers who work tirelessly to protect the community.

To celebrate the day, we have special $10 GA tickets available!

The Hawks will be looking to keep their momentum going after its stunning 32-point win against Collingwood last week, while the Bulldogs will also be hoping for back-to-back wins as they look to secure their spot in the top eight.

Last time we met

Western Bulldogs (94) defeated Hawthorn (65), Round 7 2023

The Bulldogs overcame a determined Hawks outfit to claim a 29-point win at Marvel Stadium.

Despite being well beaten in clearances and contested possession before half-time, the Bulldogs gradually tilted the match in their favour to secure the 14.10 (94) to 9.11 (65) victory.

The home side owned the scoreboard for most of the second half, but struggled to shake off the gallant Hawks.

Bontempelli (20 disposals) was below his scintillating best, drifting in and out of the contest as Hawthorn threatened a boilover in front of 40,119 fans.

Aaron Naughton (four goals), Caleb Daniel (27 disposals, six clearances) and Jack Macrae (26, six) were all influential in the victory.

Will Day (30 touches, six clearances, one goal), James Worpel (25, eight, one) and Jai Newcombe (24, 10, two) took up the fight with the Dogs' engine room and veteran forward Luke Breust (three goals) was a handful in attack before half-time.

Hawks spearhead Mitch Lewis impressed in his first game of the season on return from a knee injury but was wayward in front of goal, kicking 1.4 from 16 disposals and 11 marks.

Our last game

Hawthorn (105) defeated Collingwood (73), Round 21

Hawthorn pulled off one of the upsets of the season after defeating ladder-leaders Collingwood by 32 points at the MCG on Saturday.

The Hawks kicked the first five goals of the game and never relinquished their lead, asserting their dominance to stun the premiership favourites.

Dylan Moore kicked the first two goals and then Josh Weddle added another on the run before Luke Breust got in on the action, and suddenly Hawthorn had four goals on the board.

Ned Reeves went back to slot the first goal of the second term, somehow the Hawks had five unanswered goals and were starting to look unbeatable a long way from home.

But then Collingwood came firing, kicking four straight goals to reduce the margin to under a kick.

But just like they did all day, Hawthorn responded extending the margin back to 26 points by the final change.

Hawthorn went on to kick the first three goals of the final quarter to dismiss any concern of another black and white come-from-behind win.

James Sicily set the tone from the start and produced another phenomenal showing, with the skipper amassing 37 disposals, hauled in a career-high 19 marks, 10 intercept possessions, three goal assists and 515 metres gained in a defensive masterclass.

Jai Newcombe and Will Day upstaged a highly fancied Collingwood midfield, while Maginness claimed another major scalp restricting star Magpie Nick Daicos to just five disposals.

In just his second game, Brandon Ryan kicked three goals from nine touches and five marks.
