Kristy Stratton has been recognised with MVP honours for her breakout performance in Hawthorn's 14-point win over Sydney in Saturday's Indigenous Round fixture at Henson Park.

The 28-year-old broke the game open in the third quarter after a tight first half which saw the Hawks trailing the Swans by two points.

Following her important first-quarter goal, Stratton got out the back for her second major of the day, this time in the third term, before assisting a Sophie Locke goal to stretch the Hawks' lead.

She wasn't done yet though, producing a brilliant rundown tackle on dangerous Swan Chloe Molloy to stop her in her tracks.

Stratton finished the game with two goals and a goal assist from her seven disposals, alongside five score involvements and three tackles.

The midfielder/ forward has had a stellar start to her career with Hawthorn, featuring in all seven of the club's games this season and averaging 10.3 disposals and 7.7 tackles to go with three majors so far.
