Hawthorn has confirmed its side to take on the Western Bulldogs in Saturday night’s AAMI Community Series Match.
The Hawks have welcomed some key names into the 26-man squad, including star forward Luke Breust and defender Karl Amon, who will make their first appearances for the year in the practice match at University of Tasmania Stadium.
Recruit Ethan Phillips has been added into the starting line-up, while Hawks fans will get another look at exciting new forward trio Nick Watson, Jack Ginnivan and Mabior Chol, after all impressed in the hit-out against the Western Bulldogs last week.
Jack Gunston, Josh Weddle and Harry Morrison (managed) are the notable absentees from action.
General Manager of Football Rob McCartney said that the trio were being rested in readiness for the club's season opener in a fortnight.
"Given this is a practice match, we have decided to take no risks with these players as we eagerly prepare for our clash with Essendon in Round 1," McCartney said.
Club members, along with AFL members, will have free general admission access by scanning in with their membership at the venue on match day, subject to capacity.
The AAMI Community Series game will be broadcast live on Fox Footy, available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
