Hawthorn ruckman Ned Reeves has been named to play his AFL game since Round 2, with the Hawks making one change to their side set to take on Adelaide this Saturday afternoon at the MCG.

Reeves comes into the side in place of fellow ruckman Lloyd Meek, who sustained an ankle injury in Hawthorn's 25-point win over Brisbane last Sunday at Marvel Stadium.

Hawthorn Executive General Manager of Football Rob McCartney highlighted the opportunity ahead for Reeves.

"Injuries open up opportunities and Ned gets his this weekend against Adelaide," McCartney said.

"Ned has been waiting for his opportunity to make his return to the AFL arena and he has proven that he can perform at the level.

"He’ll be extremely determined to provide our ground-level midfielders with the best opportunity to influence the outcome on the weekend.”

The match will also mark much-loved Hawk Jack Gunston's 250th game, with Hawks fans encouraged to get to the MCG to celebrate his illustrious career so far.

Hawthorn's clash with Adelaide begins at 1.45pm and will be televised on Fox Footy and Kayo Sports.

Hawks fans can stay across all the match day action on www.hawthornfc.com.au and across its InstagramX and Facebook.
