Last time we met

Hawthorn (97) defeated Richmond (49) in Round 14, 2024.

Hawthorn managed a 48-point victory over the Tigers in Round 14 to spoil the party of Dustin Martin’s 300th game.

The milestone man kicked the first goal of the game for Richmond, with efficiency by foot around the ground, the Hawks controlled the game and sliced through the Tigers defensive structure.

The Hawks had a run of seven unanswered goals in the second half to stretch the margin after an early arm wrestle.

The class and endeavour Will Day offered Hawthorn was game-changing. His work with the footy was one thing, recording 20 disposals and five inside 50s, but equally important was his aggressive defensive running without it.

Meanwhile, Mabior Chol (four goals) was also immense against his old side, playing an important role both deep inside 50 and supporting Lloyd Meek in the ruck.

Our last game

Hawthorn (112) defeated Carlton (38), Round 22, 2024.

Hawthorn defeated the Blues by 74 points and crept into the top 8 for the first time this season.

Hawthorn kicked 13 goals to just two after quarter-time to make percentage a factor from early in the second half until the final siren, resulting in the Hawks moving 1.1 per cent clear of the Blues.

Captain James Sicily again led the way in defence, Josh Weddle played a blinder kicking three goals from defence.

While Dylan Moore and Massimo D'Ambrosio kept up their regular dominance around the ground, finishing with 29 and 31 disposals respectively.

Master and apprentice in Jack Gunston and Calsher Dear both made an impact on the scoreboard also kicking three goals each.

The super sub Luke Bruest kicked two goal late in the fourth to further seal the Hawks victory.
