Hawthorn has recalled Finn Maginness for Saturday's clash with North Melbourne at University of Tasmania Stadium.

The 23-year-old comes into the side for the first time since Round 20 after Will Day suffered an SC Joint injury in last weekend's 63-point victory over Richmond.

Hawthorn Executive General Manager of Football Rob McCartney said Maginness' inclusion was a testament to the depth of the team.

"The depth of our squad at the moment has meant that players have had to play at Box Hill level and wait for their opportunity to present at AFL level," McCartney said.

"Finn is a perfect example of this, having been in good form in the VFL.

"He now gets his chance at AFL level and off the back of that good form, he's ready to perform on Saturday against North Melbourne at Launceston."
