Hawthorn midfielder Cam Mackenzie has been ruled out of Friday’s Elimination Final against the Western Bulldogs at the MCG after suffering a hamstring injury.
Mackenzie left the track early during the Hawks’ main training session on Wednesday, with subsequent scans revealing that the 20-year-old sustained a low-grade hamstring injury.
Hawthorn Head Doctor Liam West said the club will reassess Mackenzie’s return-to-play timeline next week.
“While Cam will be unavailable for selection this week, we will undertake some further testing to determine his recovery timeline in the coming days,” West said.
“We are confident it is on the minor end of the spectrum and we will provide further updates in due course.”
