Hawthorn midfielder Jai Newcombe has topped the team’s coaches’ votes for the 2024 AFL season.

The 23-year-old polled 69 votes in the home-and-away season followed by 15 in the finals.

After polling the most Brownlow votes of any other Hawk and winning his maiden Peter Crimmins Medal, Newcombe received coaches’ votes on 10 occasions during the regular season and was also recognised in both of the Hawks’ finals appearances.

Co-Vice-Captain Dylan Moore and Captain James Sicily followed closely behind in the home-and-away season with 51 and 38 votes, respectively.

Like Newcombe, Moore also polled votes on 10 occasions while Sicily received votes in nine games across the season.

Fifth-placed James Worpel recorded the most 10-vote games with two while Newcombe, Moore, Sicily, Will Day and Connor Macdonald all polled perfect scores once.

In the finals, Sicily finished second among Hawthorn players with six coaches’ votes while Karl Amon, Lloyd Meek and Jack Scrimshaw all polled four votes.
