The Hawks will field a youthful team in the club’s first JLT clash against Brisbane this Sunday.

Draftees Will Golds, Mathew Walker, Damon Greaves and Tim Mohr have been named in the extended squad and are a chance to make their first appearance in the brown and gold.

Second year players Harrison Jones, Dylan Moore, Changkuoth Jiath and Jackson Ross have also been named, with the quartet each vying for a senior debut in the upcoming season.

GM-Football Graham Wright confirmed the Hawks will use the pre-season game to inject some experience into their next wave of players.

“We’ll head up to Burpengary with a relatively young squad, with a few experienced campaigners also in the mix,” Wright said.

“We see the JLT series as a great opportunity for these youngsters to gain exposure at senior level and test themselves against an AFL opposition.”

James Frawley, Jonathon Ceglar, Jarman Impey and James Sicily are among the experienced campaigners in contention to take on the Lions.

The final team will be finalised at 5pm on Friday via hawthornfc.com.au.
